And yes, please remember this:
don't confuse the Basque people and their culture with the Spaniards who live in the rest of Spain.
They are two different populations and have entirely different languages, although all Basques people speak Spanish and are part of Spain.
The Basque language is entirely diffferent from all the other languages of Europe which belong to the Indo-European family, but not the Basque language.
( different like Chinese and Korean or Japanese )

And a fact pointing out their unique difference is this:
Blood-type frequencies of the Basques, they have the world's highest frequency of type O and RH negative blood - something that can't be found in no other part of the world.

I just mentioned all this so that you would not make some "gaffe" by confusing Basques with Spaniards.

And since you will be in San Sebastian, don't forget to go to BILBAO - that is a lovely city, the capital of the Basque region and a lot bigger than San Sebastian, just 100 km = 60 miles from San Sebastian.

I just want to make sure I tell you one recommendation:

When in Spain don't fall in to the trap of drinking wine they might offer you while socializing, and especially Sangria.
Sangria is a mixture of wine and fruit juice, it knocks you out suddenly because you tend to drink more than what your body can hold since the wine is watered down in fruit juice but all the alcohol is still there.
Politely decline any alohol beverage offer while asking instead for a drink of freshly squeezed/pressed orange or tomato juice.
That should stop any "booze pusher" you might meet.
