I have to agree, "Red Corner" was a superb movie. Your honorable self and Richard Gere made a stunning team, but I think everything you do, from films to poetry are wonderful. You always bring your own special personality to what you do, that's what makes you so amazing. It's like, no matter who you are pretending to be, Bai Ling is all we see.

Somehow I still can't get around to the idea brought forth of dumplings and cannibalism.
Me and a friend we are used to meet once every week or so in a Chinese restaurant and eat loads of meat and shrimp dumplings.
Not me... no longer, no more.
I order other stuff instead.
Just the thought of dumplings now makes me turn away every since that movie came out.
( it makes me wonder...how many Chinese restauarnts have suffered business sales falls because they can't sell as many dumplings as before ? )

I have never seen your movie "Dumplings" this beause it has not reached the movie theatres here in Italy, not yet.
Well of couse I could have it downloaded from intenet...
I've got friends who download from internet tons of movies.
But I am ferociously against the practice of internet movie piracy downloading.
I believe that such pratice could bring the death of good movie making in the long run, because of falling incomes to the movie industy.
I believe we should have the decency to at least pay an entrance ticket to a movie house, or buy a Dvd, or use pay Tv, in order to enjoy the work of artists who make movies.
I believe that stealing movies from intenet and elsewhere is not respecting the artist's work.
I prefer to do without seeing a movie rather than following that path of freeloaders.

Bai, you're a really good actress, no doubt about that. Getting a lead Hollywood-type role for Asian actors is always difficult because you are typecast as women of loose virtue, kung-fu fighters, etc. eg. Nancy Kwan, Lucy Liu, Michelle Yeoh and Bai Ling. Asian leading ladies like Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi made their fame in Asian film, but find it hard to tranfer that to Western cinema, excepts for special cases like "Memoirs of a Geisha" (again a type of whore). Now, if I was you I wouldn't feel too bad because you seem to be always working in film and your looks always keep young - do you really eat those type of dumplings?

successful Chinese girl who came out from nowhere in central China and reached the spotlights of
