My thanksgiving to you.......

白灵的BLOG[编辑]
http://blog.sina.com.cn/bailingblog

Paris has not arrived yet, like a gentle white cloud is still on its way falling like a dream to my feet..........

I love the city of Los Angeles just like this, like today right now, empty.......an empty house, vase, box..... earth turning in its lightness landed from the moon..., even the leaves have stopped their breath together with the wind hide inside the music under the dim lights in someone's little room far away, warm .......

I could drive my little red car and speed to the extreme and directly fearlessly dangerously enter the free way from the wrong side and suddenly just suddenly stopped in the middle of the intersection and no one and no one would care and notice, the road is empty...... only me and my little red car laughing out loud with the white smoke, even the 88 police officers are all rushed chasing after a red headed fat Turkey to the far away lost on the other side of the big mountain.........

Forever.....and ever.........Turkey and the 88 police officer lost just like that.......

I love LA just like this, the stillness make the air so clear and clean, no sound can be heard, as if a big symphony orchestra is just waited whole day and so ready to break its first sound like a brilliant firework shooting out directly speed to the open sky, the loyal audience are so afraid if they will disturb the beauty of the magic sound and all quickly hide behind the little houses under the big mountain, yes far, so far away.......only the stars and me and a few of you brave enough walked out of the room and gently opened and took off our shoes our shirts our mini skirts and our hearts, walked, walked close to the edge of the mountain cliff breath out our joy in silence.....

Appreciation happens everyday in our lives, it should be the joy that our happy heart's nature to give each moment of life........

Eating Turkey quietly lost in friend's loud laughter jumping on the table one by one, realizing the simple meaning of life is just in the simple moment of living eating drinking and breathing and without any thoughts.......

Emptiness.........

I thank you my friend for your loyalty, your support, your curiosity, your understanding, your patience and your secret love on the other side of the computer screen.........

As I breath my thoughts lost in you, in your joy of life.......

Be thankful everyday.

Learn to appreciate, only then you start to breath light and recieve love.......

Happy happy Thanksgiving!

Ian, I have many guns in my collection but no Berettas (note correct spelling) or Chinese made AK's for that matter. The Russian and former Comblock weapons are for the most part well made, but the Chicom ones I've seen are POS.
The US Army caved and adopted a 9mm ladies gun because the Eyetalians and the rest of their UN allies weren't man enough to handle a .45 Colt. In Colorado amigo, enjoying Thanksgiving.

Hate to say it ACE, but I think there is to more to it than that. Ruger was one of the primary competitors and the sidearm made by Ruger, a 9mm as I recall, was by far the superior weapon. Not getting that deal really hurt Ruger. Hmmmm.

Good luck with the Lisbon Treaty - seems it's almost a done deal. At some level, I think, we need "politicians" or at least some form of elected representation Short of the chaos that would ensue if it were everyman for himself, which would leave the wide-eyed "feel goods" in charge, what would you suggest we we do?

Sure, but is that realistic? I don't think the "powers that be" would allow it to happen and -if- they lost control wouldn't we be throwing the baby out with the bath water? It would be pretty ugly.

CityKid said...

Sorry you're so cynical, though I understand why you are. I don't know enough about politics on your side of the pond, but over here my take is that the politicians don't pay much attention to what "the people" want. They are too busy lining their nests. At present 44% of the members of our Congress are millionaires, yet less than 1% or the U.S population can say the same. I can't imagine that most of these folks, politicians, have a clue about what it's like to live like the rest of us (Democrat or Republican - makes no difference to me.)

Ian said...

CK said:

"Sure, but is that realistic? I don't think the "powers that be" would allow it to happen and -if- they lost control wouldn't we be throwing the baby out with the bath water? It would be pretty ugly."

May not be realistic but it is natural and a default way for the species to act when the aforementioned systems of control fail.

The great mistake the powers that be are making is undermining the traditional family unit. You undermine that and society falls apart. Time will tell.

Ian said...

It's the same everywhere CK, politician's feather their own nest and do not represent what those who elected them want. Look at the UK a massive majority wants all immigration stopped, a massive majority wants out the EU and nothing to do with it other than business, but do they listen? I don't go by dumb ass "poles" that are rigged depending on who is quoting them I go by what I hear everyday on the street.

Values, standards and everything in this country have declined like never before mostly all down to the contamination of law and politics by feminism, leftism (or the strange hybrids that pass for left these days) and other such things undermining the traditional family structure.

CityKid said...

Ian, it's hard for me to relate to the basic family unit. I was single for most of my life and got married after I was 50. Growing up, in grade school, only one of my classmates had parents that were divorced. Things are entirely the opposite today - but I don't blame that on "the state." Sure, government may have a role, but I remembered how automobile prices skyrocketed in the 80's and 90's after women entered the workforce over here. I think there is more than enough blame to go around.

CityKid said...

Then again:

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/11/06/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5553408.shtml

Ian said...

CK there has been a deliberate and constructed assassination of the Family unit going on for years.

If you want to control people and make sheep of them, erode the strongest thing there is in their lives, the family unit. This has been systematically assaulted by perversion in Law and government that rewards all behaviour that is to the contrary of that. Once the family unit breaks down and a Society starts to loose cohesion then a Government can bring in whatever clandestine law they like to control them on any level they wish.

It's your basic slavery, take away things that make them strong and then make they reliant on the master for all.

CityKid said...

FWIW Ian, it's one of the reasons I poke at ACE from time to time - like the military's current sidearm. Both Democrats and Republicans are to blame. But he focuses on just one side and I know he's smarter than that. The left and the right actually started getting together on some things over here in the early 90's - NAFTA for example - and the Republicans, the Democrats, and the corporations looking to get rich went nuts trying to keep them apart (and sadly succeed).

CityKid said...

If you want to control people and make sheep of them, erode the strongest thing there is in their lives, the family unit.

Having spent more than a bit of time in PI, I'm not sure I agree that the "family unit" is the basic building block. In PI and many other developing nations it's a hindrance because peoples primary allegiance is to their family, not their country. Perhaps there is a balance somewhere in between or perhaps the concept that you are speaking of is exclusively "western."

Ian said...

Well in Vietnam it is similar I noticed but not with those problems you mention, the women there (traditional ones) always put family before their own wants (opposite to the majority in the west) AND they still work to the states benefit too. The ones I met seem to manage both admirably.

Family should ALWAYS be first above all else, anyone who thinks a persons allegiance should be the Country first has issues IMHO. A Country ultimately is just some land where you live it does not Birth you, it does not do nothing it's just land.

OH CK on a note of closing do you know why on average an Asian/Indian immigrant here would be more likley to get ahead (other than flouting laws and regs as they often do). They ALL have a strong Family unit who work together to set each other up in business and buy property etc, nearly ALL of them who do well have that one thing in common.

The one thing scum, for example feminists, are hell bent of destroying in the indigenous peoples here. The immigrants are the ones playing smart and keeping their traditions and values while we allow ours to be eroded.

Ah ah ah ... I seen that gun slinging ACE just had to comment on the Beretta pistol but avoided mentioning the Beretta salame sausage. Maybe he was too busy playing with it? -lol
I double R-ed the gun's name to lure him in and play with words.
Strange how ACE would be so picky about spelling on BAI LING's Blog.
( of all places )
This makes me wonder what he thinks about your spelling BAI LING.
And now here comes the sequel to Beretta gun/salame, a short lesson of Italian.
Pistol, "pistola" in Italian also means = jackass/fool/idiot.
"salame" in Italian also means
the same = jackass/fool/idiot.

"Pistola" & "Salame" can have the same meaning.

So then, those who play with pistols also play with their sausage(salame) ? Lol...

WEALLHOPE?? said...

I really hate to admit it because it comes from the ( usually foul and insolent ) mouth of IAN.... Family is the real basis of human society.
It is the core nucleus of all societies.
It is more important that all other human social structures that were later devised during human evolution such as: nation, state, religions, politics etc. etc.
But these too are important in order to prevent mandkind from just being a bunch of primitive family gangs roaming around and constantly fighting one another.
It must hurt BAI LING to not have had the usual family structure others enjoy.
But she is a though gal, and this did not keep her from attaining the pinnacle of success in her life.
This said, I'm off to work -
I'll leave this place to all the salame sausages here....LOL
( I know you will all miss me, but don't worry because I'll be back )

WEALLHOPE?? said...

I nearly forgot to check Twitter -
BAI LING says:
"I am going to Paris tomorrow exciting, how is the weather there? how are you?"
and then you rush off to Germany and Canada-
Taking off on a short notice.
--> we here Paris & Milano & Germany, we aree 9 hours ahead of the time in L.A.

Another visit to Hamburg BAI LING?
( I don't want to think of my last failure of Marrons Glacées and the Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg - no )

You don't like packing suitcases ?
Nodoby does I think, you always get that feeling of having forgotten something ....

They ALL have a strong Family unit who work together to set each other up in business and buy property etc, nearly ALL of them who do well have that one thing in common.

I can't speak for the way things work over there, but in NYC the mode of operation for many immigrants, Koreans in particular, is a bit more socialistic. They pool their funds into a group - often administers by elders who are trusted. Based on a set of criteria: need, seniority in the group, and so forth, the group makes interest free loans (or very low interest loans) to members of the group. There was a bit of noise made about this in the mid-nineties in NYC. The banks were kinda upset and tried to get The State of New York to clamp down on the practice. But it proved to be something the authorities couldn't squash because they couldn't gather enough evidence in most cases to drag folks into court. There is a name for what these "lending circles" are called but I don't recall it at this moment.

I Would if you would stop wittering total bollocks!

hmmmmm then Ferry to France is only a few hundreds yards from my house!

WEALLHOPE?? said...

Yeah IAN what the hell are you waiting for?
If I'm not wrong, Dorset is about 20 miles from Poole, the Ferryboat embarkation port to Cherbourg France.
A 120 km sailing across the Channel ....OK oK ...the ENGLISH Channel and you reach Cherbourg.
From there a short train ride of about 340 km to Paris - a short trip with those fast French TGV train.
Get moving!!

Ian said...

Wow just to think in a few hours BAI lING is going to come over me :-)

Oh, Ok - your driver finally found you -

CityKid said...

Bai Ling twitted, twitered, tweets, Finally on my way they changed terminal the driver was somewhere eles hoping I will pop up cold dark Paris, but air so fresh I like it lot!

Not so cold only 5 C (41 F) in Paris at the moment. Jeez, it's -4 C here in Anchorage and that's consider warm. You should be glad it's not warmer given the dire forecasts of late (the Greenland icesheet is poised to slide into the ocean.) Of course the air smells "fresh" if you compare it to L.A. LOL

What's that old Letterman line? Oh yeah, "I love fall in LA, watching the birds change colors and fall from the trees."

Hey Fly. What's for lunch? Food in your neck of the woods is soooo much better than many other places. Do they do "organic" in Italy?

WEALLHOPE?? said...

---------------------------------------->
ITALIAN, yes ITALIAN opera singer ANDREA BOCELLI will be awarded his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 2 - 2010-
( the sad irony is that he is blind and he won't get to "see" it )

Ian said...

Bocelli is the Nuts, my fave classical singer.

WEALLHOPE?? said...

CITYKID, of course we have organic food here too.
The entire "Mediterranean Diet" can be considered organic as well.
Maybe that is why Italy, after Japan, is the major nation in the world with the highest life expectancy.
( that could be bad news for some bloggers here because that means that FLY could be around for a long long time - LOL )
I had spaghetti with "sugo nero di seppia" -> squid black sauce.
Very tasty

Ian said...

CK said:

Do they do "organic" in Italy?"

...of course they do, have you not heard how often they are called "shit eaters" have you not :-)

Germans used to call them "Cat eaters", I wonder if that was with or without sauce?

Ian said...

I am not having bugger all for lunch, don't get more friggin organic than that!

Ian said...

I must admit though when in the Med I used to always cook myself and enjoyed going to the markets, the fruit and Veg are definitely better, everything here is fuggin supermarket American-genetic seeded shit, tasteless and bland.

You can get good stuff here but most people buy their stuff in supermarkets hence bad rap for food here as it is all crap. Decent restaurants source their food from better places.

I still like my Chinese food big time, the best!! Peking Duck in light pancake with rich plum sauce and spring onions...mmMMMMM

Oh shit there goes my diet!!

WEALLHOPE?? said...

People would not believe the things I've eaten while travelling around... crocodile tail stew in Indonesia( very good ), rattlesnake in northern Mexico
( so,so ), insect burger in Mexico City ( no worth it )- I won't go on not to gross you out.

BAI LING is now in Paris.
Will she eat "escargots" = snails ? = very, very good!

WEALLHOPE?? said...

------------------------------------->
Escargots= snails , very French
Cooked in an oven with the snails inside their shells with lots of butter, garlic and parsley.
Very easy to prepare.
But the dish leaves you with a strong garlic breath.
So BAI LING, if you eat escargots, you many kisses you send out might be really "knockout kisses" - LOL

WEALLHOPE?? said...

And another French speciality not to miss: Paté de Fois Gras
( delicious )
As for French famous frog legs, well I find them so-so.
A bit like white poultry meat.
We have them here too in the area south of Milano, but I don't go for them.
As for beverages BAI LING, all sorts of wines in France ( to keep you drunk all during your stay over there )
As for champagne: Veuve Cliquot, a sure bet.
Now....PASTRY !!
( yes BAI LING, pastry - sweets )
France has all sorts of delicious pastry, you will be dazzled by the incredible pastry choice they offer.
You will go like "craaazy" -LOL

CityKid said...

Snails are good, but then so are frogs. Grilled termites and cockroaches are tasty too, I like the crunch and termites are fatty so they have lots of flavor. On my short list, I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, is Fergus Henderson's book, THE WHOLE BEAST which has some tasty looking recipes derived from traditional foods from the British Isles.

Fly, does Italy have a certifying organization for "organics" or do they leave it to the mob?

WEALLHOPE?? said...

CITYKID - yes rather strict certification institute.
And now all foods must have its origins specified. And for example where meats were grown, raised, slaughtered, etc etc on labels.

One last little advice for you BAI LING while in Paris.
If you go to Pigalle area near the Moulin Rouge night club, or downtown Boulevard des Capucines near the Opera House, don't lean against a wall like that smoking a cigarette and with that attitude of waiting for someone...
It could give the wrong impression to guys walking around.

You might have a sort of Daniel FLY guy walk up to you asking:
"how much?" -
No, they would say in French:
" c'est combien la passe?"
--LOL

Ian said...

Actually CK You said you had just "turned in" with regards to my comment the previous night, the next day you posted, "I have just put in an all nighter"

So it does appear contradictory the way it is written.
?

Ian said...

erm...

WEALLHOPE?? said...

Yes IAN, I tried that too in South East Asia, but refrained from mentioning it because that is a Chinese traditional dish and .... guess who is Chinese here?

CityKid said...

A staple in the Philippines - very tasty too. But you have to walk home with a handful of rocks so you don't get attacked by the packs of dogs that roam the streets at night. Filipinos claim the dogs can smell it on you and know that you've eaten one of their own.

Ian said...

Had the same in Nam, used to walk back to the Hotel with with a lump of wood in my hand ready to batter them over the head with. LUNCH!!

Daniel we had those sort of dishes in my parents restaurant, Shark steak, Crocodile (or alligator not sure which) Kangaroo and others.

Kangaroo seemed quite a lean and rich meat almost like horse to me, the Shark was nice too.

;)

Sand is your best bet for beating off packs of dogs. In the northern provinces of PI (farm towns) they back off if you motion like you're about to toss sand or if you bend down like you're picking some up.

Ian said...

Yeah but you can't eat the buggers after hitting them with sand..they tend to run around a lot when you put them on the fire :-)

WEALLHOPE?? said...

IAN, I don't consider Shark and kangaroo "special" dishes.
Shark is not easy to come by anymore because they are trying to label them a protected species, and rightly so.
They are the ones who clean up the seas and oceans. ( like Flies ! )
As for kangaroo ... we import that meat from Australia and can be found regularly in certain supermarkets. Indeed, it is a lean meat similar to horse.
And yes, Italians eat horse meat very frequently.
And buffalo too, raised in France.

Oh that's one for Texan ACE -
--> an American Buffalo speaking French???

Ian said...

Ah Buffallo that was another one we did, never got round to trying it though. What's wrong with Shark?

If they are bred for eating it is no different to any other animal, more lefty thinking nonsense. If they was endangered we would not be able to bloody buy it through legal channels stupid!

CityKid said...

Yeah but after a night of drinking San Miguel and Red Horse I don't think about my stomach - the fish lady comes by everyday, there's always something to eat. 8 or 9 snarling mutts are a real pain at 2 am when all you want to do is launch yourself on to a grass mat.

Ian said...

LOL, yeah I was a bit sozzled once or twice on the way back from some bar:-)

Why is it all the dogs look exactly the same everywhere out there? All got that inbred mental case look about them :-)

Ian said...

....bit like Italians!

LOL I found a website with a "database of racial slurs", its hilarious bloody dozens for Italians but surprisingly hardly any for English, the few that are there are ones Scottish and other English call each other but hardly any from outside UK, I wonder why do many for the Italians?

Must be a reason why the whole World's got shit names for them

he he!

Actually Ian, many species of shark are in trouble. A predator species sharks have been treated very poorly, like most predators. Until recently, sharks have been seen as being of little or no value. It seems that just about everything that lives in the oceans, with the exception of some jellyfish and algae, are in trouble. It's worth noting that those ocean species that are thriving (like some jellyfish) are doing so because humans have wiped out the predators that feed on them. It's kind of a touchy subject up here given how much we depend on fish.
