Daniel, yes, Bai Ling is getting out of an Italian car. Smart move on her part. You notice there are no photos of her in a moving Italian car. Could that be because they break down so often and are impossible to get parts for? The Italians, like the British, have designed their cars to look good standing still because they spend so much time broken down. Smart move on their part. BTW, what ever happened to Alfa Romeo and Fiat? They are no longer sold in the US. Do they even make them any more? I saw where Alfa said they were returning to the US market in "late 2009". Well, it is late 2009 and so far no Alfa Romeo. Another Italian making a promise they couldn't keep?

Daniel, if you are stupid enough to believe statistics put out by liberals you get what you deserve. Maybe the reason Italians have a good life expectancy is because, if they can afford it, they come to the US for their health care, like your PM Silvio Berlusconi did for his heart pacemaker. Interesting that one of Italia's richest men didn't trust Italian doctors or pacemakers for his surgery, no? Maybe he wanted to do more than just lie there and look good until they closed the lid.
American cars SUCK, still use leaf spring suspension for christ's sake, interior are terrible cheap plastic everywhere and they faint when they see a corner!

Ian, leaf springs? Maybe on a few lower priced entries or some trucks but the majority have independent suspension. Be honest about British cars. MG? Triumph? Austin Healey? Morgan? Lotus? (Ok, Lotus was bought out by the Malaysians,maybe they can improve it) Mini Cooper (Now Mini BMW. Do German made British cars count?) Where are those British Icons now? Haven't seen a new one in over 25 years. Jaguar? JD Powers gave the 2008 Jaguar S-Type a reliability score of 4.0 out of 10. The X type is even worse, having a rating of 3! Consumer Reports gave the Land Rover a 59 out of 100. Common problems are Dashboard lights, Engine fan, Engine noise, Fuel gauge, Suspension problems, and Water leaks that can cause the navigation system to quit along with the radio and Blue Tooth, due to water entering the navigation unit. And this on a SUV that costs $80,000+?! Come on! Get real! At those prices we're subsidizing your infamous health care system!

Yes. If you can afford it, it's yours. That's the benefit of a free market capitalist society. Our Constitution observes that "all men are created equal". It does not say they evolve that way. Jaguar and Land rover where German owned (BMW) since 1994 then American owned since 2000 (Ford)and then Indian (Tata) bought them in 2008. Range rover and land rover previous to that where without question the best off road vehicle in the World despite their niggly electrical and rust problem, I know I have had 9 standard Range Rovers in my time to play with and no other 4x4 come close not even friends standard American ones. All of mine where pre 94 ones (classic) still British after that they was shite because the U.S turned them into cars for fat lazy people, lowered them and added crap you don't need hence not so good off road anymore.
The others you mention are from the 1960's for Christ sake and the MG/Austin etc have always been product of the friggin commies and their Unions which is what truly killed our car industry in the 70's!
Morgan's are still built in the Maalvern hills and made by hand from traditional materials, they have always been a cottage industry maker and are still very popular.
Lotus has been a name in racing for decades and where formerly owned by Buggatti b4 going bankrupt them bought by the Malaysians. They have always out-handled most other such cars.
The only truly British cars we have left are Morgan, Noble which are brilliant and wet on nearly anything the U.S offers in the same or above range. There are one or two other small makers and that's it.
The daft thing is all the great stuff in the World like Bridges, Aviation, Space, buildings, cars, etc etc are very much British designed, invented etc but for some reason we can't seem to do it here for ourselves?
I have yet to drive an American car that does not handle like a boat, fells like it is made from left over parts of a wheelie bin or have dirty great engines that produce no more BHP than one 1/4 it's size in the UK/EU!

There are rumours running around our Milano office that they might close down the Milano's branch and move everything to Rome.
Here in Milano, for the past 2,5 years we have been teaching our Rome's office the trade starting from scratch, and now we might get the shaft.
Most people here don't want to move to Rome for various reasons.
But of course ACI is centered on Rome for political reasons.

Ian, Ford sold Jag and Range Rovers because they couldn't make them profitable. Maybe they had to design them for the biggest selling market, the US. That's business. Porsches are designed for the Southern California market primarily. There are more Porsches in SoCal than in Germany. Morgan and Noble? Not big enough to bother with. Been years since I saw a Morgan and never saw a Noble. Anyway handling and speed become moot if you can't outrun a radar gun and a 2-way radio.
Biggest problem with Brit vehicles is you can't get parts for them outside the UK, they're terribly unreliable and extremely overpriced. It's been 60 years since WWII. The designers have had more than enough time to work out the "niggly electrical and rust problems". If they are such good engineers why can't they solve those problems? Reminds me of the scientist in the Beatles movie "Hard Day's Night" complaining about why he can't take over the world because of sub-standard British made equipment that always fails when he needs it. The best off road vehicle bar none? Toyota. Even the fucking Taliban uses them.

As for the problems like I said they could do it but due to the socialist workforce sapping the lifeblood out of the industry all the time the changes could never be made due to cost. I would still take a pre 94 range rover over a U.S 4x4 any day of the week even one made now, I worked on them so I know how easy they are to repair. The ones I had I fixed those problems myself and they was great.

The point was, regardless how well a car performs, accellerates or handles it can't outrun the police. Saw a Lamborghini Gallardo a few months back stopped in New Mexico, had 4 police cars around it. Damn shame to spend that much money on a vehicle and have it impounded and sold at auction.
I'd still rather have a case of gonorrhea than a British car because unlike British cars, gonorrhea will run and you can get rid of it. ;-)

There are no British cars ace except the ones I mention and I would rather have a Noble than ANY American car cos you know it will be shit quality, can't handle and most likely will GIVE you a dose! I always buy German anyway :-) They suit me well, Gunnerel, precise and drive like a bastard!

Range rover never had diesel engines in them until BMW bought them ACE. They always had the 3.5-4.2 litre petrol engine. The only diesel Rangies you will find pre that are what people have put in themselves.
Tell a lie it was not introduced till 86 but they are VERY rare, you cannot find them at all now for love nor money. The petrol engined ones where 99.9% of all sold. However the petrol engined ones had terrible problems with Dizzy's packing up etc but then it was a Buick engine!
This makes me miss my old rangy, I had a two door 1973 one once a real old dog but it would go anywhere I put it! I mig welded all new sills onto it and sorted the wiring out and it would just go anywhere and it was bog standard. People always screw up by flooring 4x4's thinking that's how to drive them, wrong, selecting the right gear and speed for the terrain is essential . A nice slow methodical approach always wins. As they say "The range rover..the most fun you will have at 5mph!"

So is the trade union the legal worker belonged to. The state city and federal government make less in taxes because the boss is paying the illegal worker under the table. In addition to trying to get Bai Ling's personal contact info by a cheap trick to get her to donate to a charity on your behalf so you could repay her later, it looks like our stalker boy is a fucking Communist too. Tell us Danny, how would you like it if your boss hires someone from say, Liberia, to do your job for 1/10 of what you make and fires you to save money? Should be all right, eh?

The Diesel will be more reliable for sure and economical , also more tourque so great for tugging and what not. I have only seen one Perkins diesel Rangie in all the years I have been into them, however a friend of mine did have one with a JCB engine in it :-) Shit you could pull a skyscaper over with that!

That is exactly what I meant by having the need for State/federal safeguard laws to protect from wild

Where does capitalism thrive the most? In todays poor Third world countries where there is no law, no social safeguards, widespread corruption, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, where who has more guns commands.

I admire that country a lot because they have always had the right balance between private and public sectors when running the country.
Their form of Social Democracy has been the real ennemy of Communism since the times of Lenin because he recognized the Social Democrats could undermine any Communist platform.
And look at the history of Sweden. Some 80 years and more ago Sweden was one of the poorest countries of Europe when they had laissez-faire capitalism go wild, that is why there were so many Swedes migrating to the USA.
Today, with their mixed capitalist/SocioDemocrat society, they are one of the wealthiest countries in the world under all aspects.

The point I was trying to make is that when illegal aliens take jobs by undercutting licensed tradespeople and not paying social security taxes, everyone suffers. Just as department stores raise their prices a few pennies on everything else in the store to pay for merchandise stolen from their shelves so that we all end up paying more when we buy eggs, meat, etc, illegal aliens using our emergency rooms as their personal physicians are largely responsible for aspirins that cost $50 each in our hospitals. When the hospitals have someone who can't pay their bills, they pass the cost on to those who can. Nice try at deflecting the question about whether or not you're a communist though.
The question is why does an Asprin cost $50 in a so called free Country when it costs a few cents or free in Cuba?
Ian, simple: no doctor, nurse or health care professional here is going to work for $40 a week. If the doctors and nurses in Cuba had a choice they wouldn't either. Canada is another good example of socialist health care. Their doctors are leaving Canada for the US and ther is a shortage of health care professionals in Canada now. Why would anyone go through 4 years of college, six years of med school and 2 years as an intern to work for minimum wage?

Ian, that's only because your hospital aspirin in the UK is subsidized by your tax system. Every time you pay your TV tax, your VAT, the exorbitant taxes on your fuel and all the other taxes that are nickle and dimeing you to death as a society you end up paying $100 for that aspirin and everyone else's. That's why the Beatles, Bowie, Rolling Stones, Elton John, virtually everyone who could left the UK, to get away from the damn high taxes, isn't it?
Our politicians here have stolen billions of dollars over the years from Social Security for their various pork barrel projects to where they can never pay it all back. Social Security is broke now. ACE, a box of 20 BAYER aspirins pills at the pharmacist ( chemist, as Monkey Man says ) here in Italy, bought over the counter costs 4 euro = 5,6 $
That is 28 cents per aspirin pill...

What makes you think I am searching for Bai Ling stuff 24/7 Daniel, I was in Court all day yesterday and in the middle of moving home this week so don't keep making up crap and calling me things and sulking because you have nothing to say and no technical experience to work out how easy it is if you know the Net. Surely if you consider yourself a fan you would be interested in her Movies, her roles and opinions and debate on such and would want to help contribute to doing things like finding her old movies? I found all those old movies in about 2 hours and that is the longest I have spent searching for anything on here , ever. The rest of the info I don;t have to search for at all because I have setup my computer to automatically search and deliver content to my laptop which includes Ton's of stuff and not just Bai Ling related. It really is not difficult Daniel, go and read up on RSS feeds and things like yahoo pipes etc anyone can do it!
ACE Actually I live above a Chemist store (pharmacy) right now so if you need a price on anything get me a shout A whole bottle of paracetamol can be bought for as little as 30p I think in a local supermarket and that is not subsidised at all.
