I've a friend who has that written on his passport and it is because his grandfather was Korean back when that land was under Japanese rule.
And he is not Mr Nobody, he works for a famous Italian firm in Tokyo.
As for foreigners living over there in Japan, they are viewed as people who eventually sooner or later will return home.

plus everthing moves a lot slower here on the east coast when it comes to film and getting new movies in theater. so thats a little bit of good luck for you this morning. but your right ian it was''t the most intellectual movie i ever seen but it and i'am only guessing' was very fun making it and the graphics was'nt that bad.. and of corse bai ling !!!! allways putting her heart into everthing she does.....
R.C The CG was not good for a feature but forgivable for a micro budget flick I guess, the blood spatters etc they used were hideously obvious and I beleive the same ones I have on file made by http://www.videocopilot.net/ for 250 dollars or so.Using traditional blood squabs is better if you have someone who can do it.
They should have hooked into someone like Tom Savini for the make up effects, the tenticles were the worst CG having such a totaly metallic and false lighting all the time made them very unbelievable.
All that being said it had moments that made up for the lack of budget and ultimately what was the selling point? The terrible script? no it was Bai Ling's lovely small ass in tight shorts and a nudy shower scene! It;s a bit of fun not to be taken too seriously and it does that fine.

I was watching another film the other night and someone got there head blown off and I spotted the exact same blood spurt, that is the major problem with low budget HDV productions that use stock stuff, it gets used too much and you see it straight away in any film that uses it and it deconstructs the whole thing for me.
This is why using proper effects people and make up artists etc is better than any CG if you can afford it or at very least original CG effects.
BAI LING has massively Twitted to us 6 messages describing her day at work... and describing having eaten 3 bowls of noodle soup. It appears she can't take it anymore, that of eating late at night on the streets in hot humid weather.

Yes but if someone is going to get their head blown off in a film I want to feel the effect of what it would be like without either bad effects deconstructing the moment or an overkill of effects making the gore override the overall moment.
Realism and beleievability is the key to telling a good story.
