Something funny just happened, I need to study something for my next project, so I went to odyssey to rent a movie called " Nights of Cabria" , they don't have it, so I drove the road hopping wondering, then suddenly I saw a big red sign on a bright yellow board says " Red Hot Video" , I went in and there are 3 guys there and I asked: " Do you have the movie nights of Cabria ?" the guy answered: " what?" so I repeated the name again, he goes: " Is that a porn movie?" I said : No I don't think so." he says : "Are you sure?" I was like : " yes!" but back of my head was like....p? Was my fiend joking with me? actully I don't know him well, but we talked about movie gets very excited and he recommended, " No " I firmly confirmed again, Then he goes: " this is a porn video store, look at all the movies....." I was like WHAT!!! Turned round I got a little scared, remember those places in bangkok and time square? then he started to show me tapes and all other 2 guys are laughing and watch my reaction and get excited, he say: "You Ok? Whats wrong? Come on come inside look at all these I will show you come look in the back....." Wow!!! I was like, he says : " Now gets you excited right?" Wow! So many of them, so many, then just now I noticed it says " All ratings" with a red flash sign, wow!!!!!! How come I did not see? What a surprise and what an experience! I thought they have a more obvious signs, well better this way, because then they can get all kinds of people in. I walked around and amazed there must be a big industry doing this, making a big market and product, so funny, those tapes twisted my mind to a story I am going to sharing with you now:
Remember when I was in China shooting movies in Beijing, 8 girls actress we live together in the film studio's hotel, cozy and intimate, girl talks every night when we turn off the lights all ready to go to sleep, often moon lights walking in brighten the room, so bright we can actually see each other's face and feet, the film we were making is a story about college students, so young girls and young guys everyday just joking and flirting, suddenly at one midnight this one girl just gets up and dressed and left in our conversation with the moon lights followed, we all thought she went to pee, because we only have the bathroom in the dark hall way, sounds like a horror movie now, but no, she did not come back till 5am, 5am no body does that in China, I used to make out with boys only till 4am or?......... so she repeated this for 5 days, no another week, wow where did she go? In the dark middle of the night in the communist country? Our hotel is sit in the end of the city, ghosts fly there, so since that day she always gets up and out at midnight, then back around 5am, I was like what's up with her? Her face became yellowed as the day goes by, my bed is next to hers so maybe I was the only one noticed, what is she doing? " please do not tell anyone!" She stopped me almost angry. while we were filming She was so nervous all the time and feeling sick:
" Would you like to go?" She finally asked me one night.
" Of cause!" I said so fast and already had my shoes on.
She hold my hands with such nervousness made feel something bad is about to happen.......
Oh my god, those dark under ground roads, dog shooting, we were running after the darkness going deeper and deeper, suddenly load noises chasing after us with a fire gun, a war started......... I have no clue where she is taking me, but we both are so scared and almost fall to the ground, I was about to cray, and suddenly 5 dogs showed up from no where and it is right now in front of us so tall......
I cannot describe how did we get passed the dogs, and what is inside..........all I can say is when the wood door opened it was another world, a world with..........a crazy mad insane under ground wired local Pornography movie party! The sound of the dogs bucks were the music that night............
In China there are no signs, we could get arrested if anyone knows, and some people say we did.
That was a dangerous game she was playing and played on me. She stopped after 2 weeks, 14 days, 14?
I think if you openly have the store so loud with big red sign then people are not interested any more, now in China it is scary a lot of my friends in the film industry start to take a lot of drugs, they call it " Yao Tou Wan" that means that thing will make you shake your head none stop.

I think they was waiting to see if I would pass out on their gecko wine before them, lol, kept up with the buggers all night and then some. They seemed chuffed at the end that I did, somehow my little VN driver managed to balance my now wobbling near 18 stone ass on the back of his moto and took me back to the Hotel..and he was almost as drunk as me!
Everywhere I went with my Camera gear I always spotted a couple of Plain clothes dudes not fair away. You just got to know how far to push it but at the same time when to bow and give a nod or a few Dollar!
There was a few other dungeons I visited but better not go there, he he he!

ACE - you'll love this. I tried to post a link to the DVD Bai was looking for in the Los Angeles Public Library(LAPL) collection. It's a really great movie and worth watching. Turns out that the company (TLC) that makes the software that LAPL uses is owned by Knight-Ridder. The software is like way old and URLs assigned to catalog listings time out after 2-minutes. I wonder who got greased to go with the CARL package that LAPL uses and Knight-Ridder owns? It's no small potatoes - I'll bet LA is paying millions to maintain that lame system. Hey, corporate greed, and government malfeasance, knows no bounds (even if the product sucks). Hope I'm not being too liberal for you.

Ian, we certainly agree on the movie thing. They say the target audience for most films now days are 14-16 year old boys. Films that might appeal to more "adult" audiences don't have appeal to studio execs and investors because the foreign markets are more limited. But films marketed with kids in mind make lots of money in oversea markets.

We have refugee camps all over Pantelleria & Lampedusa islands and Sicily too.
The media only show the ones that have been rescued by the Italian Coast Guard. It is very rare they show the bodies of those who did not make it floating around in the Mediterranean Sea before getting hauled on board Coast Guard vessels.
Very few statistics have been made calculating those drowned.

While there have been a great number of talented artists from El Paso (Mauricio Mora rocks) the art scene sucks. There are a small handful of museums and galleries with an even smaller handful of redeeming art. The performing art scene is marginal at best with a limited number of acceptable venues. Concerts venues? I'd rather have my eyes covered in Tabasco sauce than sit in the damn Colosseum where you have to sit sideway or else your shin get's hit by the guy's noggin sitting in front of you. I usually love amphitheaters but I'm not going to sit in McKelligon Canyon when it's 95° outside. I'd say bands agree. Who's playing in the next month? I think I've got better choices close to me at Inn of the Mountain Gods. Pretty bad when a town of 8,000 has two venues that are better than those of a town of 800,000. Your zoo sucks (although in all honesty it's been a couple of years since I've been maybe it's improved?). Parks? Well, what few you have (compared to most cities) are a sorry sight. Food, please don't get me started on food. Unless you love chili, El Paso is down right horrid for food choices. Chinese is a laugh. The best place I've found for Chinese is PF Changs. A chain for christ's sake. Thai? Well El Paso can't do Chinese so I have a hard time believing there is a decent Thai restaurant. Indian? One place that's fair, but nothing to write home about. Italian? Cappettos? Il Posto? Sorrentos? Yeah right that's fine for a meal, but not what I'd call good Italian, again most of the chains are just as good Macaroni's grill, Carinos. The list goes on and on. A fine restaurant? I don't think there is one in all of El Paso Geoseke tries to be trendy but is average at best. French? Is there even a french restaurant in El Paso? There is only one stand out restaurant that I have been to. Cattlemans. But that really isn't in El Paso is it, and as good as it is, I can still make a finer ribeye on my Weber in my back yard. Movie theater. For a town as old as El Paso there is no old movie house that plays "art" Films until just recently. And even now the Plaza has a very limited calendar. What's left? Activities? Sure you can go out and ride a bike, jog, but you can do that anywhere. That doesn't set a city apart from another. El Paso with all it's history has no architecture, has no personality, has no soul. It's a place to go get the things you can't in the small piss ant towns and get the hell outta there because most the drivers drive like insane asylum escapees (Of course I blame most on that on Juarez not actually El Paso, but El Paso is the one that pays the price).
I can go on and on. You love your town or at least like it? That's fine, but please don't try and blow smoke up my ass.

Alan, the Coliseum was built in the 1940's for rodeo and livestock shows. The only people I've seen who complain about the seating there are the obese lard asses who try to squeeze in to a seat. Same goes for the Don Haskins center - made for basketball, not concerts, but we do have 'em. Who do we have "this month"? In 3 more days? LOL! We had Lacuna Coil from Italy at the Streetfest and other bands. The Plaza ha B.B. King recently. Who did the Inn have lately? Some old has-been bands from the 70's who haven't had a hit in decades? Three Dog Night? Cheech and Chong? LMFAO! Have to go out for a bit, BBL.

I get your point, but the fact is that concerts are held there. It's original purpose is irrelevant to my point. As far as seating, I'm 5'8" about 180lbs. My preferred one: The Name of the Rose.
I read it in Italian and then read it again in English.
I was really impressed by how well it was translated into English.
The movie too was a great movie worth wathching.
flame of kween Leona is my thing now. autobiogriphical, yes ? he is wily. the memior before his memoir, the one he can legally ;lie in. He is no fat head supporter. ? lol what is his realtionship to the catholic church and such? I think he believes in the freedom of the press?
